About the Council

The London Borough of Sutton is one of London’s greenest and safest boroughs, offering an exceptional quality of life for residents and a rewarding environment for professionals. With excellent schools, vibrant neighbourhoods, and strong transport links, Sutton combines the benefits of a close-knit community with easy access to central London.

We are proud of our reputation for innovation and collaboration. Sutton is a council that values partnership working, sustainability, and forward-thinking solutions. Our Corporate Plan, Ambitious for Sutton, sets out a clear vision: to create a borough where everyone can live well, learn well, and work well. This means investing in housing, education, health, and the local economy to ensure long-term prosperity.

Sutton is also a leader in environmental sustainability. We are home to the UK’s first London Cancer Hub, a world-class life sciences district, and we continue to champion green initiatives that protect our environment and promote healthy living.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our services. In housing, we recently achieved a C1 rating from the Regulator of Social Housing, confirming compliance with all consumer standards and demonstrating strong governance, safety, and tenant engagement. This achievement underscores our determination to deliver high-quality services across the board.

As an employer, we offer:

  • A hybrid working model that supports flexibility and work-life balance.
  • A culture of learning and development, with opportunities to grow and progress.
  • A strong sense of purpose—every role contributes to improving lives and shaping the future of our borough.

Sutton is a place where ambition meets opportunity. If you want to work in a council that values innovation, collaboration, and impact, we’d love to welcome you.
