Assistant Director, Adult Social Care
Dear Candidate
Thank you for your interest in Sutton and in the role of Assistant Director Adult Social Care.
I hope that you are excited by the challenge of taking our Social care services to the next level. Our services are well regarded and we pride ourselves on great partnership working, including of course, with our NHS colleagues in the newly created South West London Integrated Care System. We are aware that there is more change to come, and more work to do to take full advantage of the possibilities of integration. In Sutton it really matters to us that we bring all of our partners with us on the journey including our voluntary sector partners.
As our new Assistant Director for Adult Social Care, you will be a passionate champion of our services in times of increased demand and budget pressures, placing a real emphasis on teamwork, partnership and continuous improvement of professional practice. Our joint and collaborative ways of working with colleagues in housing, commissioning, prevention, early intervention and public health will give you the tools you need to make a real difference in our borough.
In this role you will also contribute to the work of the Council as a whole, promoting independence and safeguarding, and integrating health and social care, through not only the staff in your services but across the wider organisation.
This role is responsible for oversight and delivery of Adult Social Care; statutory delivery including 2 registered provider services and the council’s integrated Short Term And Reablement Service.
We are looking for a team player, who likes working in partnership and who knows how to get the best from partners and how to get the very best for Sutton and its community. We are looking for a leader who will ensure that our Adult Social Care services are not only fit for the new inspection regime, but delivered with passion and humanity. We want to hear from people who are excited by the challenge, who are great advocates for the borough and who can bring a collaborative and inclusive approach to this role.
